Overview
Vexl was released in late 2022, and since then both users and the company have organized many meetups to grow the network and help people build their local communities for cryptocurrency trading.
The goal of this new website was to give anyone, anywhere, a clear framework to organize and build communities themselves — the same way Vexl did in Czechia and Slovakia after the initial launch.
Research and iteration
Shaping the framework
Vexl had already run several successful meetups, so the content came from hands-on experience with the users organizing them. My first task was to shorten the PM's framework into a form that could work as a meetups subpage, starting with a low-fi wireframe and then a first hi-fi version — split into "How to" sections plus support for potential organizers.
Iterating on the details
Several rounds followed, playing with colors, typography, and other ideas to refine the design.
Final version
Key decisions in the final design: a personal photo in the hero section to better represent the idea of the meetup, reducing the slide section to boxes for simplicity, a map of previous meetups, a simplified support section with adjusted copy, and a carousel for photos.
The whole project reused the design system, typography, and color scheme of the existing Vexl landing page.
Takeaways
This was the first real-life project I worked on that went to development and release. It was great to see my own ideas developed from the start into a real product, and to learn about cooperation between a designer, PM, and copywriter.

This project was part of my work for Vexl, which is part of SatoshiLabs. Vexl is a mobile app for P2P trading of Bitcoin, aiming to give anyone easy access to cryptocurrency via their own social network. Its core values are privacy — completely anonymous, no data collection or KYC — and transparency, as the app is fully open-source.
